With almost 300 aging windows in the hotel, it is a constant job to make sure the glass doesn’t fall out where the glazing has fallen away. With the extreme winds we had yesterday, the middle window on the very top floor blew completely out. I had to replace several panes of glass and crawl through a small hole in the 4th floor ceiling to get into the attic. I also painted the window facing the street. Now that it is all repaired, it looks quite nice.
You’ve got to love winter in New York! About 10″ of snow and still coming down.
We are building out our bird collection and added two new peacock varieties to the flock. A white peacock and a black shoulder joined our piebald peacock today. When in full fan and doing their dance, they add a lot of excitement to the aviary.
The antique shop is now open and located in the lobby of The Roseboro. It is open Saturday and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM. Stop in and see the many beautiful and unique antiques and collectible we have for sale. We will be opening an online store as well very soon.
We picked a fabric and started to recover the chairs for the dining room at The Roseboro. The window coverings will be made from the same fabric and trimmed with gold fringe. We decided to paint the columns a burgundy color and the walls cream color. The trim around will all be in gold leaf. It should look very rich.
