You’ve got to love winter in New York! About 10″ of snow and still coming down.
We are building out our bird collection and added two new peacock varieties to the flock. A white peacock and a black shoulder joined our piebald peacock today. When in full fan and doing their dance, they add a lot of excitement to the aviary.
The antique shop is now open and located in the lobby of The Roseboro. It is open Saturday and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM. Stop in and see the many beautiful and unique antiques and collectible we have for sale. We will be opening an online store as well very soon.
We picked a fabric and started to recover the chairs for the dining room at The Roseboro. The window coverings will be made from the same fabric and trimmed with gold fringe. We decided to paint the columns a burgundy color and the walls cream color. The trim around will all be in gold leaf. It should look very rich.
A crew was busy today moving holiday decorations from the Village maintenance barn to The Roseboro for the Victorian Holiday Celebration. Brent Ridge, Josh Kilmer-Purcell, Doug Plummer, David Cousineau, Ron Ketelsen, Mike McCallion, and Lester Higgins loaded a 16′ trailer in the pouring rain and moved them to The Roseboro. Josh and Brent got the decorations from a company in Boston who was getting rid of them and donated them to Sharon Springs. Our goal is now to have one of the best decorated Villages around.
Between now and December, volunteers will be needed to go through and sort the many rooms of holiday decorations. Help is also needed to decorate the Village and prepare for the Festival of Trees for the Victorian Holiday Celebration.
